It has not been a good week in the press for current AEW Women’s World Champion, Thunder Rosa. After having to step away from the ring due to a back injury – numerous sources would indicate that might not be all driving her away from the AEW ring. Backstage bullying and bad blood with co-workers has put some serious black marks on her record, and we now have another name calling Rosa out for her bad behaviour.
Dark Sheik Backs Up Reports Of Thunder Rosa Being A Backstage Bully
Reports of Thunder Rosa being a bully to younger names getting their starts in AEW Dark have become common lately, and now we have indy veteran Dark Sheik saying this behaviour lines up from what was seen of Rosa backstage in GCW for WRLD on GCW in Hammerstein Ballroom. Sheik would post the following to Twitter, alluding to Rosa.
“omg I can’t believe the same person yelling backstage at rookies and vets at Hammerstein is reported yelling at ppl at dark, too, that’s so crazy 😝”
While this could be referring to Jon Moxley or Ruby Soho, two other AEW contracted stars who were on the card at that GCW show – both Moxley & Soho have rarely had a bad word spoke about them backstage. Rosa is the one currently being exposed, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see more smoke from this fire in the coming days.
Losing Her Smile?
This all circles back to Rosa suddenly stepping away from the ring, just as it was rumoured she would drop the AEW Women’s World Champion to Toni Storm. Comparisons have been made between Rosa and Shawn Micheals in 1997, and not in a talent perspective. That is when Shawn “lost his smile”, which just happened to see him step away while the WWF Champion, and is one of the biggest diva moments in the history of professional wrestling.
It remains to be seen who will be crowned as Interim AEW Women’s World Champion – and if that Interim part of the name vanishes as weeks turn into months. Rosa is currently expected to be out of the ring for the next few months at the shortest, and until 2023 on the long end. All Out will see Hikaru Shida, Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter & Britt Baker battle to claim the Interim belt.
