Last night on AEW Dynamite, we’d see Thunder Rosa announce that she’s not going to be able to defend the AEW World Women’s Championship at All Out. She’s suffered an injury, and an Interim AEW Women’s World Champion will be crowned, with Jamie Hayter, Toni Storm, Britt Baker & Hikaru Shida in the mix. However, two of those wrestlers have major issues with Rosa – which have recently come to light.
Thunder Rosa Had Backstage Issues With Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter
A report from Fightful Select would point out that Rosa had backstage issues in AEW, with both Jamie Hayter & Britt Baker having issues with Rosa. Baker & Rosa have been noted as not being able to stand each other, while Hayter has an issue with Rosa following a broken nose in their match at Battle of the Belts III.
Baker & Rosa have worked together despite their issues, having remained professional – while there’s been reports of Rosa hiding from Hayter following their match. Others have claimed that Rosa has been developing a backstage ego, and has become very hard to work with. However, some would also call her a locker room leader. Right now, Rosa has been working in AEW for nearly two years – and has worked to get a lot of younger talent on shows, but recent reports of working stiff and sandbagging wrestlers has done little to help anyone.
Promising To Come Back Soon
As for her return to the ring, Rosa promised her fans to heal and recover soon. She’d post the following to Twitter,
I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the Thunder Army and the Wrestling Community for the outpour of support and well wishes after my announcement on AEW Dynamite. I will heal and come back soon; your still AEW Women’s World Champion.
Much like CM Punk & Cody Rhodes before her, Rosa remains champion during her absence, with a unification match waiting for her return. Her injury has been reported as being due to bulging discs in her back – and no timeline for her return has been named at this time.
