When the two were linked to the beating death of Barbara Grams, they were already serving life sentences. The two were also linked to the rape and murder of freelance photographer Linda Lanson in July 1983. While Grams was beaten to death, Lanson was shot.
Robert Duboise, who was wrongfully accused of Grams’ murder was freed in 2020 thanks to the Innocence Project taking his case. Duboise had been behind bars for close to 37 years.
Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren made the announcement of DNA evidence linking Amos Robinson and Abraham “Abron” Scott to two cold cases. Of the two, Warren said:
“These men are serial murderers and rapists, and although they’re already serving life sentences, their crimes against Barbara Grams and Linda Lanson cannot—and will not—go unpunished.”
As for why the two were already serving life sentences; in October 1983, the two would kidnap, beat, and kill a man by running him over with his own car.
