New York State Police snagged 84 pounds of heroin and fentanyl in a recent bust. In the process, three men were arrested for running a drug mill in Hudson County. The State Police announced the bust on August 8, 2022.

In all, the three men ran their operation out of three houses. Richard Stroman Jr (48) was the anchor of this bust as police began their investigation into him back in May 2022. On June 24, search warrants were executed on three houses in Hudson County including Stroman’s place.
In addition to the drugs, police found cutting agents, a digital scale, smartphones, presses, and about $1,900 in cash. Jose Acosta (37) and Miguel Carrasco-Lara (35) were also arrested in the bust. The trio received the same charges of maintaining a drug production facility, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Details such as the scale of their operation and how long the three have been operational weren’t touched on by the State Police. NY State Police Superintendent Pat Callahan had this to say if the successful operation by the Opioid Enforcement Task Force:
“The take down of the two drug producing mills and as a result of the seizure of these illegal narcotics, we have undoubtedly saved multiple lives, because even the smallest amount of fentanyl is deadly to anyone who comes in contact with it.”
No date has been mentioned for court appearances by the trio.
