YOSHI-HASHI & Will Ospreay are both in must win situations tonight, with the tournament quickly coming to an end – and both in the middle of the pack of the tightly contested D-Block. Tonight, they meet in a first time singles meeting – and while Ospreay is a favourite to win here, it’s hard to deny that YOSHI-HASHI hasn’t been on an absolute tear lately. It’ll be a hard hitting exchange for sure, and one that will see both men push hard for the win.
Will Ospreay Takes Fight To YOSHI-HASHI
With two layers of tape on his right shoulder, it was clear that YOSHI-HASHI was beat up by this point of the tournament. Ospreay went right after the shoulder, and would force YOSHI-HASHI to the ropes. A neckbreaker would land to Ospreay, but only got a two count. Ospreay would hit the ropes to build up speed, and ran down YOSHI-HASHI with a boot to the face.
The shoulder would become an issue for YOSHI-HASHI after being driven into the corner. Ospreay would hit a knee drop to the bicep – and caused some screeches of pain. At armbreaker would follow in the middle of the ring, Ospreay twisting that shoulder in unnatural ways.
YOSHI-HASHI would be able to hit the Bunker Buster neckbreaker, merely getting a chance to recover if nothing else. Some running strikes would keep Ospreay on the defensive, before Headhunter got the two count. Ospreay would nail the handspring Blast Kick, sending YOSHI-HASHI to the floor before soaring down with the plancha.
Back in the ring, YOSHI-HASHI would look to set up a superplex, but was unable to connect. Instead, Ospreay nailed a Falcon Arrow in the middle of the ring. Some heavy chops would follow from both men, before Ospreay would simply kick YOSHI-HASHI in the head. The second kick would miss, and Ospreay quickly countered into Karma for the near fall.
Another attempt at Karma was met with a stunner, before the OsCutter. YOSHI-HASHI responded with a lariat, before taking the hook kick and blocking a powerbomb into a facebuster. Brainbuster would get the near fall, before YOSHI-HASHI fell to Hidden Blade.
Seven Way Tie Incoming For D-Block?
Will Ospreay winning here keeps the absurd seven way tie in the D-Block alive. For this to come to fruition – YOSHI-HASHI must defeat David Finlay tomorrow, and El Phantasmo & Juice Robinson need to also win their next matches. Something like this is unprecedented, and folks want it to happen to simply see just how NJPW deals with the situation.
Battle Royales, mini tournaments, and scramble matches have all been suggested – and we could well find out soon just what the protocol for these situations is. Do you think the seven way tie is incoming? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
