Tama Tonga & Taichi are no strangers to each other, having feuded over the IWGP Tag Team Championships… and the Cursed Iron Fingers From Hell. That was back in 2021, and now – Tama Tonga is a babyface, and tonight – things will be much more simple than their bizarre ladder match. They both enter at four points – and have a chance of being in the Final Four of the tournament – so will fight like hell to step closer to the golden trophy.
Miho Abe had brought a pouch to the ring however – and those Iron Fingers were here for this match. They haven’t been seen since 2021, and this could be some mind games from Taichi. Just the pouch was seen, the contents unclear before the bell rang.
The Cursed Iron Fingers Are Back – And Will Drive Both Men Mad
Tama would force Taichi to the ropes as this match began, but allowed the clean break. The pouch would be grabbed by Tama – and he’d be shocked to see the contents. It’s a cursed item for a reason – driving men crazy, just look at the career of Takashi Izuka for proof of this – going from a hard nosed brawler to an absolute madman.
Taichi would try to force them onto the fingers of Tama, trying to bring out the less focused man in the ring. A Greco Roman Throat Hold would drive Tama to the mat, before some kicks to the head. Taichi laid in the mid-kicks, but this just fired Tama up. Forearm strikes would follow, before Tama ran Taichi down with a lariat out of the corner.
Backdrop would get Tama a two count, before the headshrinker was blocked. Stinger Splash was side stepped, and Taichi nailed the gamiguri to the face. The pants of Taichi were torn off, before the Buzzsaw Kick was teased. However, he’d look around was drawn to the Cursed Iron Fingers in the corner. Taichi slipped them on his fingers, like a man possessed.
Tama Tonga Resists The Fingers, Nails Gun Stun For The Win
Before he’d get them on, Tama would hit the Death Valley Bomb before Supreme Flow for the near fall. GunStun was signalled, but Tama would hear the call of those Cursed Iron Fingers, like Smegol being called to the One Ring. He’d grab his precious, and Jado did everything in his power to stop Tama from putting his hand in.
Tama would yell in pain, before Gun Stun would be blocked into the Gedo Clutch. A two count would follow, before the Dangerous Backdrop for another two count. Black Mephisto would be blocked, and enziguri’s would be traded. Buzzsaw Kick would be followed by a missed Axe Bomber, allowing Tama to hit the Headhunter.
Taichi would pop to his feet and nail the Axe Bomber. Black Mephisto would be blocked, but so would GunStun. Sumo Style takedown set up the Yokozuna forearm – but GunStun landed, and Tama earned the two points.
Tomorrow, Tama faced Great-O-Khan, and must keep winning to try and keep pace with Jay White. Can Tama Tonga maintain the winning pace? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
