As more and more is coming out about the confrontation between CM Punk and the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega during the Media Scrum following AEW All Out, it’s getting interesting and convoluted.
While it’s been reported that no one really knows who threw the first punch, it’s also been reported that Punk threw punches at one of the Young Bucks and one of them went to the hotel with a black eye.

It’s also been reported Ace Steel threw a chair and hit one of the Bucks in the eye and then pulled Kenny Omega’s hair and bit him.
For all intents and purposes, it’s a mess as we’re waiting for more to come out, and it’s arguably the most entertaining thing AEW’s done in a while.

Unprofessional conduct
Whether or not CM Punk was telling the truth, and that’s the assumption many are making since Tony Kahn nodded along throughout, doesn’t excuse it being outed in a press conference if this isn’t a work.
The fact he did so while at the same time saying if anyone has a problem with him to approach him in the hallways so they can work it out speaks volumes and not in a good way, and it’s for that reason we hope this is an elaborate work.
If it’s not, Punk’s living up to being compared to a young Shawn Michaels.
It may be unprofessional, but maybe it’s Punk’s belief this is the only way to get the Bucks and others to listen?
Jim Cornette talked about how the Young Bucks didn’t want to listen to the older talent when AEW first started, and now that Punk’s insinuating the same thing with the Adam Page and the Elite, there’s reason to think it’s true.
Punk was also quick to blame the wrestling media for spreading the Elite’s lies, but in reality it’s hard to tell what’s happening when there are different claims and a third party doesn’t weigh in a definitive manner.
Rumors have been swirling that there’s increased tension behind the scenes in AEW for months, and this could be the first time any of it came out into the public in such a way, and now Tony Kahn needs to figure out how to handle it since he is the boss.
Too far gone?
Assuming this is a shoot and not a work, it’s arguable that things have gone too far to be corrected without firing a bunch of people.
Tony obviously side with Punk on this matter, but if Punk or Steel were the first ones to get physical, will he suspend them and strip Punk of the title?
If not, what kind of message does that send to the locker room?
And if the Bucks or Omega started the physicality, will he suspend or strip them of their titles? Since they reportedly threatened to walk out over Punk’s comments that wouldn’t be a deterrent to them.
But a message has to be sent beyond a “positive meeting” and Tony needs to let everyone, including Punk, know he’s the boss. It may seem small, but Punk interrupting him was a sign of disrespect and doesn’t help Tony’s position.
