The longest reigning British monarch, Queen Elizabeth, died on Thursday, September 8, 2022 after battling with mobility issues for a long time. The Queen died a few days after receiving prime minister, Ms Truss.
Just after midday, on Thursday, it was announced that the Queen had been placed under medical supervision in Balmoral. A few hours later, the Buckingham palace announced her death. At the time the Queen died, her grandson, Prince Harry, who was on an Europe tour with his wife, Meghan Markle, had to rush down to Balmoral to be with the other members of the royal family. It is noted however, that his wife, Meghan Markle was not with them. Does this mean the royal family banned her from visiting the Queen during her last moments?

While Prince Harry, who is now fifth in line for the throne, spent time with his grandmother during her final moments, Meghan stayed behind in England although she didn’t attend the event they had planned to attend. The couple, however, have paid their tribute to the late monarch via their Archewell Foundation. On the homepage, they wrote, ” In loving memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 1926 to 2022.”
After Prince Harry and Meghan got married, they decided to step back as working royals, and they relocated to America to love their non-royal life. Ever since the duo left the royal family, they have had a strained relationship, and several speculations have risen about the relationship. Since the Queen’s death, a lot of people have been wondering why Meghan was not with her husband when he paid his respects to his grandmother.
There so many mixed reactions online. Some people believe the Duchess of Sussex was banned from visiting the Queen. A lot of people are even saying Harry and his wife caused the late Queen a lot of stress after stepping down from their royal duties. Perhaps, the royal family didn’t want her to be among the last people the Queen set her eyes on before her last breath.
