Von Wagner is finally picking on someone his own size, as tonight – he’s picked a fight with Sanga. These are two of the biggest heavyweights in NXT 2.0, and lets hope the crew reinforced the ring here tonight. Whoever wins could well be on their way to a future shot at the NXT Championship, something Wagner has been wanting again for the past year.
Von Wagner Shows His Impressive Power
Sanga & Wagner were the same size, and traded shoulder tackles. Wagner was sent to the mat first, before an attempt at a powerslam. Sanga would lose his grip on Wagner, before being shoved face first into the turnbuckles.
Wagner would try to apply a submission, before Sanga would hit some body punches and a side buster. Sanga would catch him on the apron with a big boot, before hitting a lariat on the floor. Robert Stone would jump into Sanga, allowing for Wagner to drive Sanga into the ring post and the steel steps.
Back in the ring, he’d hit Sanga with the Death Valley Bomb for the three count. An impressive show of power from Wagner – but not much else. His peak in NXT 2.0 remains his first night, when he was thrust into an NXT Championship match.
Oro Mensah Makes Huge Impact In NXT Debut
With NXT UK in the past, it’s time for a new chapter in the career of Oro Mensah. The former NXT UK Tag Team Champion is in action here tonight, and there’s one man who will not be keen on having a newcomer take his spot. Grayson Waller is here once again to try and bring the newest member of the roster down, and is in desperate need of a win tonight to get into the Halloween Havoc ladder match.
Mensah would hit the ring with some good energy behind him – before a punch to the jaw. Waller would think he had an easy victory ahead of him, before Mensah would show his speed before taking a sky high belly to back suplex. Waller would keep the heavy punches coming, with Mensah firmly on defence.
Commentary would say that Mensah was motivated by Kofi Kingston, before hitting the front flip kick to the face. Waller was sent to the floor, and hit the hotshot – before looking for the Stunner. Apollo Crews would suddenly appear with a bleeding eye, before Mensah hit a spinning wheel kick for the win.
