While the last couple of weeks saw the WWE fall back into Vince McMahon type of booking, one thing that has changed in the WWE is the culture backstage.
One of Triple H’s intents was to make himself accessible to everyone to ensure the talent had a say in their characters and creative input overall.
There have been a couple that have said it hasn’t changed much for them as they always had that kind of access, for the most part it looks like the rest of the talent is enjoying the change.
WWE Stars Enjoying the Chance from the Toxic Environment
For one thing, it’s been reported that the feeling of “keeping their heads down” in WWE headquarters has faded and replaced with hope and pride at working there, according to PWInsider.
One example of the change is that no one is shouting at production people to get things done anymore. Mick Foley said he quit as Smackdown commentator because he didn’t like Vince yelling at him through the headset.
The talent are blossoming
For others, we’re getting to see what stars like Mustafa Ali are capable of instead of having his matches end with a gimmick.
As fans, we’re also not seeing the same match week after week, though Triple H does seem to have an infatuation with Fatal 4 and 5 Ways to determine the next contenders.
And Braun Strowman destroying the rebuilding tag division when he returned wasn’t needed and felt like the similar disdain Vince seemed to have for the tag team division at times.
On the plus side, Strowman’s been destroying everyone, so it’s worked out beyond our initial knee jerk reaction.
Triple H has also shown an ability to add some of Vince’s ideas into the current storylines like Maximum Male Models working with Hit Row and so on.
Granted, it sometimes feels like they’re going backwards and using Vince’s playbook by booking for the Prince of Saudi Arabia with Logan Paul facing Roman Reigns and this past Raw (9/19) where all but one match ended with some type of gimmick.
It’s generally agree doing the same type of finishes back to back gimmick wise doesn’t work well, and that was the feeling with a distraction playing a role into the first two matches.
But we trust there’s a reason for this and it’s important to remember changing things is a process and the Titanic can’t be turned on a dime.
