In Florida, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office has its hands full with a murder-suicide situation. The incident occurred on the evening of October 24, 2022 when deputies were notified of a stabbing in Deltona.
When they arrived just before 6:20 PM, they found three children alive, a woman with stab wounds, and an unresponsive man on the scene.
Florida Couple Dead Following Apparent Stabbing-Involved Murder-Suicide
From what the Volusia Sheriff’s Office gathered, the unresponsive man stabbed the woman and then himself in a domestic dispute. The woman was declared deceased on the scene while the man would live for an hour after being rushed to the hospital. According to Sheriff Mike Chitwood, the children were unharmed in the incident.
Currently, authorities are still looking into the murder-suicide as this could be a cut and dry domestic dispute gone wrong or there could be something that initiated the stabbing.
What the Volusia Sheriff’s Office is looking for is answers as to why this happened and something that could be explained to the children and surviving relatives. Sheriff Chitwood said of the incident:
“The children will need a lot of love and support as they deal with this tragedy today and for the rest of their lives. I am just so sorry for their pain. We are making contact & arrangements with family members and will make sure these kids have everything they need.”
