The operation began with a tip that someone was selling significant amounts of fentanyl in Hernando County.
Deputies launched an undercover operation after identifying Spring Hill resident Jacob Spinoza as the seller. Keeping an eye on his movements and residence, authorities observed significant trafficking activity at the house.
Once a search warrant was obtained, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office moved on Spinoza’s residence. They seized the above-mentioned fentanyl, over 130 grams of marijuana, 2.5 grams of meth, three guns, scales, baggies, 34 Suboxone strips, and a little over $2,600 cash.
Jacob Spinoza has two previous prison stints for grand theft, resisting arrest with violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, as well as aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. He was also arrested for other drug charges, battery, failure to appear and retail theft.
Spinoza faces charges for trafficking in fentanyl over 28 grams, possession of a controlled substance (Suboxone), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition, and two counts of possession of a “new legend drug”.
There are also charges for possession of marijuana over 20 grams, possession of meth, and person in possession of a structure for the sale of a controlled substance.
