In an update to a story from this summer, a Florida man was charged with the shooting death of his son after claiming that he believed that he was an intruder. On August 20, 2022, Sumter County deputies responded to a shooting at the Webster residence of Lindsay McGeorge where they found Jaiden McGeorge dead.
Florida Man Charged in the Shooting Death of Son He Believed Was a Home Intruder
Earlier that evening, deputies reported to the house after the elder McGeorge called and reported a burglary. He said that three people showed up and one was armed and had broken into his house. Deputies reported nothing amiss at the scene and left.
Charges were levied against Lindsay McGeorge on October 20, 2022. McGeorge was already in custody at the Sumter County Detention Center for charges unrelated to the death of his son. At the moment, a court appearance has yet to be scheduled.
Because McGeorge was arrested, there appears to be a little more to this case. What do you think? Did the father call the deputies knowing they would find nothing while building an alibi? Or did the father actually witness a break-in at his home and killed his son thinking that it was the robbers returning?
