A Florida man faces anywhere between 15 and 40 years on each count of distributing child pornography. Clearwater native Joshua Tripp (42) was hit with three counts of distribution and one count of possession.

The 15 years is a minimum mandatory sentence meaning he’s facing a minimum of 45 years if the prosecution gets him all three counts. As for the possession charge, that has a maximum of ten years.
These penalties are in addition to Tripp violating the terms of his status as a registered sex offender.
His prior charges include aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, aggravated statutory rape, and lewd and lascivious molestation. In short, Joshua Tripp is looking at some time in federal prison and that gives his defense attorney a tall task.
Likewise, the prosecution has to score guilty verdicts to really put this guy away for a long time. However, things look tougher for the defense as they have to prove their client who has a record as a sex offender didn’t dabble in and distribute child pornography.
Also arrested were his roommates Craigan Joyner (20) and Donald Shadowens (30) who were both charged with one count of receiving child sexual abuse materials and one count of possessing said material. They both face a minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years for receiving and up to ten years for possession.
During their August 19, 2022 court appearance, it was deemed that Tripp and Joyner would be held pending their trial while Shadowens was released on bond, according to the Middle District of Florida U.S Attorney’s Office.
