Meghan Markle has been bashed for taking the limelight away from Queen Elizabeth II during her interview with Variety.
Meghan Markle Bashed For Overshadowing Queen Elizabeth II-‘She’s Shallow, Mediocre And Uninteressting,’ Says Fan
That is according to royal expert Lee Cohen. During the course of the said interview, Meghan made it clear that she did admire the former monarch’s sense of ‘female leadership.’
But in the process of doing so, Meghan did what she has often been accused of: talking about herself. And so it showed, as her positive comments were also accompanied by how much Meghan had been focused on doing more work for her foundation, as well as undertaking philanthropy.
Not to mention the fact that she managed to plug in her ‘Archetypes’ podcast. And that has not gone down very well with people believing that Meghan came across as quite self-centred.
In his comments, Cohen said: “Clearly the great reign and [Queen] Elizabeth II’s skilful stewardship of Britain’s history and institutions were lost on Ms Markle.
“As was the deep bond felt by Britons and those throughout the Commonwealth [and] Meghan’s grandmother-in-law.” On closer inspection, Meghan’s words do not match up with her conduct.
During her recent appearances in the UK prior to Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, Meghan made it quite clear that she did not have a lot of time for the late monarch.
She and Prince Harry ended up leaving the Platinum Jubilee prior to the conclusion of the festivities. Meanwhile, the couple allegedly turned down the opportunity to see her at Balmoral prior to the passing.
It is not surprising, then, that the fans on social media had a lot to say about the matter. A significant proportion of people agreed that Meghan was attempting to make things about herself.
One person wrote: “That woman really is a walking and talking Hallmark card. Her obsession with herself, despite the fact she’s shallow, mediocre & uninteressting is fascinating to watch. It’s like a car crash.”
