Kenny Omega is a guy with more moves than you can shake a stick at, folks. We’re going look at his arsenal and pull four candidates for the DOOM Scale on this “Moves of Doom Monday.”
V-Trigger
The V-Trigger is a signature strike of Omega’s and to be 100-percent honest, this should be his finisher. This move is a flawless strike aimed at the head and jaw which instantly gets a thumbs up from me. In the Fire Pro Wrestling games this move would’ve been a Jumping Knee or a Running Knee Pat.
Yes, “pat” was added to the move’s name in-game. Of his moves on this list, it’s the least busy and most realistic. He doesn’t even require set up for the move as he can hit it whether his foe is standing, kneeling, seated, and on all fours. Kenny Omega could probably V-Trigger a hawk with the accuracy of this strike.
This is definitely a finisher doing signature duty but that’s down to it getting spammed when necessary. I really dig this move and wish it had more respect on its name to not just be another move in his arsenal.

Croyt’s Wrath
This was a move I’d first seen during Kenny’s time in DDT. It’s a toss from the Electric Chair position into a German Suplex. It’s as convoluted as it sounds because it requires getting someone into the Electric Chair position—always perilous—and catching them mid-fall from a forward toss.
That’s just too much extra set up but makes sense as a counter to anyone thinking of using Omega’s shoulders as a seat.
While convoluted, in execution it look wonderful and it comes with some damage-dealing firepower. This is a great no-fly zone counter that should be busted out now and then. As a regular move or even as a finisher?
Eh, it could definitely finish an opponent off. It’s in the same place as our final entry, honestly.

Dragon Rush
Kenny Omega is well-versed in suplexes and his favorite of mine is the Dragon Rush or snap Dragon Suplex. I don’t know if I’d say that this could be a finisher but it does have some mustard to it.
When I first saw him perform it I was thinking “I didn’t think a Dragon Suplex could be snapped.” It just didn’t look possible without disregarding the opponent’s safety.
Of course, the DOOM Scale doesn’t concern itself with match safety—only the effectiveness of the hold and how vicious it looks. Most of Omega’s opponents continue the match after getting dumped with the Dragon Rush.
Actually, they continue as if they’d taken a slam or something. As for viciousness, this is one of Kenny’s low key impact moves but the speed gives it that umph, that mustard.

One-Winged Angel
In simplest terms, Kenny Omega’s finishing hold is his most devastating move. I’m not just saying that because it ends in a head drop and I’m still a head drop/piledriver connoisseur. It looks like a move that should end the match each and every time.
Omega basically uses an MDK move or a super finisher as his finisher which makes me wonder what bigger move Kenny has that will definitely seal the match when the One-Winged Angel doesn’t work.
Spamming V-Triggers then going into the OWA could be the ticket but hell, Kenta Kobashi popped the Burning Hammer when the Burning Lariat or Orange Crush didn’t put people way. Then he unveiled the Diamond Head when the Burning Hammer appeared to be weakening.
There’s a progression even to finishing moves and with AEW’s athletically-based, physical main event style, it seems like Omega may have to pop the trunk on something more destructive than the One-Winged Angel.
With that said, the only other flaw besides it being a super finisher doing finisher duty is that it requires a bit too much set up for my liking. Actually, part of makes it a super finisher is that Kenny Omega has to maneuver the opponent into a position where the attacker is somewhat vulnerable.
