Shingo Takagi was able to defeat El Phantasmo in a “Who’s Your Daddy” match recently, but that wouldn’t be the last of this feud. Tonight, they meet on American soil, as they once again battle over the King of Pro Wrestling 2022 Provisional Trophy. The stipulation would be voted by the fans to be a New York Street Fight. This means no rules, except you need to pin or submit your opponent in the ring. Given the 1-1 singles record of Shingo & ELP this year, this is likely to finish up their feud – and we’ll truly know who the real King of Pro Wrestling is.
ELP Uses Blood Mist In This Blood Feud
Both men would have shirts and jean-looking-tights on, getting the memo on what to wear to a New York Street Fight. ELP would hit the first forearm blow, kicking off a strike exchange in the middle of the ring – with Shingo winning out. Shingo would throw ELP off the ropes, and ended up taking a hurricanrana into a dropkick.
ELP would take a big hip toss, before being runned down with a hard shoulder tackle. Shingo was loosened up from a match with Jake Something last night, and riding high from a win. A fast elbow drop would land, before ELP was sent over the top rope with a lariat. Shingo would head to the stage, grabbing a kendo stick and trash can and tossing them into the ring.
ELP was bleeding from the mouth, and was able to get enough for a Blood Mist to the eyes of Shingo. Trash can lid would be used to batter the skull of Shingo, with the third short taking him down. Shingo would roll to the floor, where ELP got him with a thumb to the eye before sending him face first into the ring post.
Trash can over the head of Shingo in the corner would follow, with ELP swinging hard with the Kendo Stick. This would just serve to piss Shingo off, who would spray ELP with some green mist in the face before a hard lariat. Shingo would hit a jumping senton, before going up the stage for the table and chair – and dinner was not the plan.
Shingo Takagi Uses ELP’s Own Finisher Against Him
The chair was thrown into the ring, with ELP suplexed onto the chair while it was set up – doing serious damage to the back. Shingo would look for a lariat in the corner, but ELP dodged and set up a Tree of Woe before basement dropkick. He’d tease using the steel chair for a second, before just getting a Crotch press.
Shingo would counter with a German Suplex, but ELP landed on his feet and hit a chair assisted dropkick. ELP would set up a Coast to Coast dropkick with the Trash Can, only for Shingo to throw the can at his head. Big superplex would follow, before Shingo would go to the table on the stage with assistance from the ring crew, and grab the ladder as well.
The table was set up in the ring, but Shingo climbed up early and got tripped up. ELP would set up and climb the ladder, but Shingo pulled him down. Trash can shot and low blow would allow ELP to set Shingo up on the table, before a Thunder Kiss ‘86 from the top of the ladder and through the table – with Shingo somehow kicking out.
CR3 would be blocked, before ELP would avoid the Pop Up Death Valley Driver. Shingo would be whipped into the ladder, before the CR2 in the middle of the ring for two. CR3 on the steel chair was the plan, but Shingo would block and hit Made in Japan on the chair – yet ELP kicked out.
A chair assisted Pumping Bomber would follow, before Shingo hit the CR2. Stay Dream through a table would follow, with ELP somehow finding his feet before a chair to the face and Hollow Point on the chair for the victory. Shingo remains KOPW 2022 champion.
