There’s one spot left in the ladder match for the NXT North American Championship at Halloween Havoc – and it will be filled here tonight. Axiom & Nathan Frazer are tied 1-1 in their best of three series, with Axiom winning the first match, and Frazer winning the second. Tonight is the final match, and the winner will get the chance to battle for the North American Championship on October 22nd.
Time To End This Best Of Three Series
Axiom would quickly take Frazer down to the mat with a rear waistlock, before trying to grab an early pinfall victory. Frazer would find his feet, before being taken down with a side headlock takeover into a wrist lock. Axiom would lose control of Frazer, who would flip out of the corner over his head, before a stalemate of dropkicks.
Frazer would duck an enziguri from Axiom, before being taken down the mat with the side headlock. Axiom would turn this into a pinfall, getting a one count. A test of strength would see Frazer get some pinning attempts, before sending Axiom to the apron. Axiom would hit the armbreaker, before Frazer would catch him on the top rope.
Frazer would look for a frankensteiner, but Axiom would counter – driving Frazer face first off the top turnbuckle. He’d keep the pressure on with a rear waistlock, before Frazer was able to fight free to apply a rear chinlock. Frzer adjust into a sleeper, before being shoved off – but he’d drop Axiom with a shoulder tackle.
Axiom would fight off an attempt at a Boston Crab – but the hold would be applied. Frazer would be unable to get the submission, as Axiom grabbed his ankles and turned it into a pinfall. Axiom knew the springboard Final Cut was coming, and dove through the ropes to his a German Suplex – before a flying crossbody for the two count.
Nathan Frazer Gets The Three Second Advantage, Advances To Halloween Havoc
A PerfectPlex would get another near fall for Axiom, before Frazer would nail a supekick to take Axiom off the top rope. On the floor, Frazer would spring off the ropes and hit the Final Cut out infront of the announce table. Axiom would make the ring at nine, with Frazer waiting in place to hit the dropkick.
Frazer would go for the Phoneix Splash, but Axiom would counter into the triangle choke. Axiom would adjust into a Omoplata – but got too close to the ropes, allowing Frazer to get the rope break. Frazer would look for a slingshot, but was caught with a Gamiguri before Axiom hit the Golden Ratio moonsault.
Axiom would head to the top rope and was caught with a superplex, before countering the neckbreaker into a rear naked choke. Frazer fought up to his feet, before both collided in the middle of the ring going for lariats. Battling to their feet while throwing strikes, neither man would be able to find the upper hand. We’d get a double backslide with four shoulders down, but both men kicked out.
Frazer would run into a knee to the face, but blocked the Golden Ratio Kick. Axiom would be taken into a tight pinfall on the mat – and Frazer would punch his ticket to Halloween Havoc. There is no shame in a loss in a match that tight, which truly could have went either way at about twenty different spots.
