We’re quickly figuring out who the five men in the Ladder Match for the NXT North American Championship will be. Wes Lee, Carmelo Hayes, & Oro Mensah have already qualified, and tonight they’ll be joined by either Andre Chase or Von Wagner. The fan favourite is easily Andre Chase, who has won over the fans of NXT – but Von Wagner is not to be slept on. Just imagining what he could do in a ladder match alone makes him a tempting add to the match.
Von Wagner Qualifies For Halloween Havoc, Veer Came Back To NXT To Reunite With Sanga
After his victory over Oro Menash – Carmelo Hayes would remain at ringside, joining commentary for some scouting. Chase would hit some body blows as the bell rang, before being ran into the corner. Wagner would hit some back elbow smashes in the corner, before Chase caught a big boot and attacked the leg.
Chase would be dropped with a lariat, before Wagner hit some stomps. The leg became a target once again – but Wagner hit a deadlift powerslam all the same. Two basement dropkicks would keep the pressure on, before the Russian Leg Sweep and the Chase U stomps. Robert Stone tried to distract at ringside, only for Thea Hail to scoop slam him.
Chase would be distracted by this, but Wagner couldn’t hit the backdrop. O’Connor Roll got a two count, before Wagner would hit a big slam for the finish. Wagner is on his way to Halloween Havoc – where he’s ready to cause some havoc.
On commentary, Hayes would say it doesn’t matter who is in the match – but as he mentioned Wes Lee? Lee appeared out of the sky with a kick to the face. Next week, Nathan Frazier and Axiom battle over that last spot.
Sanga would reunite with Veer backstage after a chat with Frazier, perhaps signalling the next stage of his NXT career. They were once known as Indus Sher – a team that looked set to run the tag team division, but was cut short.
Wendy Choo Defeats Lash Legend
Lash Legend is not on good terms with anyone in the NXT locker room, including Wendy Choo. They’ve exchanged some insults on TV and social media, and tonight they take those issues into the ring. Choo has shown her serious side lately, and Legend hitting her before the bell brought that out.
Choo would hit some quick strikes as the bell rang, trying to cut the taller Legend down. A dropkick to the midsection would do this, before a running boot to the face. Legend would flee to the outside, and caught a crossbody off the apron into a backbreaker.
She’d press the advantage in the ring – choking Choo on the ropes before getting a two count. An elbow drop to the spine would follow, but Choo would dodge the second one. Dropkick from Choo would be blocked, but Choo turned a catapult attempt into a roll up. Vader Bomb from the top followed – and Choo got the win.
Toxic Attraction Take A Big Loss
The battle lines are being drawn in the NXT Women’s division, with Toxic Attraction standing against Alba Fyre, Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark. Lyons & Stark are looking to prove themselves against the former two time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne. Earlier in the night, Fyre would take Rose out of the picture – changing this six woman tag team match into a #1 contenders match for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships instead – which neither team will complain about.
Dolin would start with Lyons, hitting a snapmare before getting her kick caught. Lyons hit a spinning back elbow – before Jayne got the tag. She’d be met by Stark, and they’d exchange pinfall attempts only to find a stalemate. Toxic Attraction managed to isolate Stark briefly, before Lyons helped run them from the ring.
Throughout the break, Toxic Attraction would isolate and attack Lyons in their corner. Lyons would get an armbar on Dolin, but a rope break forced her to let the hold go. Jayne would maintain control after a tag, once again looking to isolate Lyons – before a double pump kick saw both dropped.
Two tags would be made, and Stark would rush Dolin into the corner before a kick to the face. Sliding knee to the face would get a two count, before Lyons would be tagged back in. All four ladies got into a brawl, and everyone was left laying. Dolin & Lyons would trade blows, before Dolin hit a running STO.
Toxic Attraction hit a roundhouse kick into a neckbreaker, but Stark made the save on the pinfall. Jayne nailed a big forearm smash, before Stark would be set for Toxic Shock. Lyons made the save, and Dolin took a knee to the face – before Lyons hit the Lionness Roars for the win.
