Jay Lethal has taken a simple disagreement with Darby Allin and turned it into something closer to a blood feud. After slamming a loading bay door on him and applying the Figure Four Leg Lock, Lethal realized something many have already learned – that physical pain isn’t the way to break Allin. Instead, Lethal is bringing a mental edge tonight, promising to bring a figure from the past of Allin to their singles match tonight.
Jay Lethal & Darby Allin Get Into A Brawl
Allin would rush Lethal before he even got all the way down the ramp, kicking this one off with a wild brawl. Lethal was shoved into the ring, and nailed with a hard crossbody block. Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh would hit the ringside area, providing a human shield for Lethal – and allowing for a cheap shot. Allin was thrown over the barricade, and his legs pulled underneath into a Figure Four Leg Lock.
Allin barely made the ring to avoid a countout, only to be thrown hard onto the apron with a German Suplex. Lethal would launch Allin knee first into the steel steps, before pressing the advantage in the ring with a sky high flapjack. Some fast knee strikes to the spine would follow before an Abdominal Stretch – with some punches to the wrapped up ribs of Allin.
Allin would block a diving elbow drop into a cradle pinfall, and blocked Lethal Injection into a Rear Naked Choke. Lethal would manage to survive, before taking the Stunner. Allin would try and set up the Coffin Drop, with Lethal rolling to the floor. Satnam Singh would be a brick wall as Allin tried for a dive to the floor – but this helped to get them ejected from ringside.
Jeff Jarrett Makes His AEW Debut
Someone dressed as Sting would attack Allin on the floor, setting up Lethal Injection for the victory. It would be revealed as Cole Karter – a member of The Factory. The crowd was baffled by this. The music of Sting would hit. Instead, Jeff Jarrett would make his AEW debut – and hit him with a guitar – and declared that the biggest weakness of Allin was his reliance on Sting.
Jarrett would call out everyone in AEW from Tony Schiavone to the fans. For three generations, anywhere a Jarrett stepped into ring? They would make an impact. He’s a 12 time world champion, two time Hall of Famer. From day one? The fingerprints of the Jarrett family were all over AEW. Jarrett is here to stay. And being aligned with Lethal, Singh, Dutt & Karter? He’s got the backup to make a serious impact.
