Florida Man Hits Road Work Traffic Controller with Car After Argument Over Diverted Traffic in Palm Coast
According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, the incident started at 1:30PM on the Camino Del Mar Parkway. It was there where a company was busy repaving the road. The eventual victim was taken with directing one-way traffic when Donald Steimle (76) drove into a single lane of traffic in his black Porsche when it wasn’t his turn to do so.
The traffic controller attempted to stop Steimle since it would’ve resulted in a head-on collision. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Steinle wasn’t having it and “yelled at the victim before revving the vehicle’s engine and lunging forward.”
The road worker was hit in the legs by the vehicle but wasn’t seriously hurt. As for Steimle, he continued to head onto Granada Drive—but not before the victim for a picture of the license plate as he left the scene.
Authorities arrested Donald Steimle 90 minutes later at his home and charged him with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He has since been released on bond.
