After almost two years after the death of Mary Grubb in Muncie, Indiana, her ex-boyfriend Christopher Allison (37) was finally sentenced for her torture and murder. In late November 2020, Grubb headed over to Allison’s house so that he could see their 2-year-old daughter.
That would be the last time Mary Grubb was seen alive. On November 25, 2020, authorities discovered Grubb’s body wrapped up and stashed in the back of a truck at a local recreational spot. She was found with injuries to the head, neck, and throat.

Investigators and the prosecution believe that Allison aimed to burn his ex-girlfriend’s remains and bury them. They also believe that she was murdered by Allison because of his jealousy towards her new boyfriend.
The medical examiner found that Grubb was also choked with a belt multiple times, being allowed to recover while Allison read texts she sent to her boyfriend. She was reportedly killed not too far from their 2-year-old.
Prosecutors said Allison planned to burn and bury Grubb’s remains, the Muncie Star Press alleges. This detail and others about Allison’s post-murder plans were recorded by a witness who managed to get the then-suspect to discuss his actions in late November 2020.
It didn’t take long for Allison to be arrested on November 26, 2020, a day after he disposed of her body. On October 21, 2022, Christopher Allison was given 60 years in prison as well as two years neglect of a dependent.
He was originally charged with attempted murder, obstruction of justice, strangulation, and intimidation. The “attempted murder” is a head-scratcher as he pleaded guilty to murder for those charges to be dropped.
