It’s a double dose of doom this Monday as we look at two of WWE’s greatest tag teams of all time. First up is the Hardy Boyz but be sure to check out the DOOM Scale for the Dudley Boyz as well! Is this “Moves of Doom Monday” we’re looking at the Hardys’ finishing combos and seeing how spectacular and devastating they are or were.
Event Omega
When Matt and Jeff Hardy hit WWE as a regular team, this was a move they used as a signature hold that never had a name. The Event Omega is a tag team move where Matt comes off the turnbuckles with a Guillotine Leg Drop while Jeff delivers a standing leg drop to the groin or midsection.
It really depends on Jeff Hardy and how the commentators call it. Oftentimes, it looks a little on the low side but the ref doesn’t call it. I’d say that of their tag team signatures and finishers, this was the more effective combo and that’s purely on Matt’s flying leg drop.
That’s the part of the move that really puts the opponent away—when this move finished matches. For the most part, we saw this move as just part of the match but I’d say it would’ve made for an effective finisher.
It has a decent amount of flash and impact plus tag team finishers are the finishers that should have a little extra setup.
The Event Omega didn’t require much setup when one guy downs the victim as the other makes their way up the turnbuckles. It’s a thumbs up daredevil finisher without being overly flashy and convoluted.

Omega Event
The Omega Event is another high-flying signature move we see from the Hardy Boyz. Now, we don’t see it as often as the Event Omega but it’s roughly the same. Matt Hardy dives off the top with his leg drop while Jeff adds to the damage with a flying splash.
Jeff tends to land across the midsection but he could land on legs on occasion—and that dulls the effectiveness of the move a bit. That aside, it has more impact and looks more exciting than the Event Omega.
It’s just too similar to Sabu and RVD’s tag team finisher which had the same accuracy issues that could make it not look as impressive without the table spot.

Twist of Fate into Swanton Bomb Combo
The Hardy Boyz’ primary finisher is Matt Hardy’s Twist of Fate followed up by Jeff Hardy’s Swanton Bomb. It’s their most recognized finishing combination and always made me wonder why there wasn’t a flipped version with Matt’s flying leg drop and Jeff’s Twist of Fate.
At any rate, its effectiveness has been proven as it has won and retained titles for the North Carolina duo. There’s really nothing else to add to this one since we’ve seen the move end matches regularly for over 20 years now.
