Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are exposing themselves to criticism in light of their activism.

That is according to royal expert Richard Palmer. The Sussexes have become very vocal on political issues ever since their departure from the Royal Family in 2020.
This is a significant departure from how they operated in the Royal Family where there was an emphasis on staying out of politics.
In comparison, Harry and Meghan have spoken out on a variety of issues, including Roe v Wade.
Not only that, but Meghan even went so far as to send a letter to the House of Representatives speaker, Nancy Pelosi, in order to advocate paid parental leave.
But in the process of doing so, the couple are exposing themselves towards more backlash. In his comments, Richard said: “I think they did fall into a bit of a trap.
“They have become hate figures from the conservative side of politics because they are seen as advocates of a more liberal agenda.”
In comparison, Prince William and Kate Middleton have not been tarnished in that regard.
The duo have taken on more royal duties since the Sussexes left, with an increasing emphasis on tackling issues at home.
They recently addressed a charity during a royal engagement in Scarborough in order to talk about the cost of living crisis.
And it is these issues that are impacting people on a local level that has won them more support in comparison to the Sussexes.
Richard’s following comments confirmed as much: “I’m not sure we can say that’s the case of the Prince and Princess of Wales
“They do make important campaigning points about things that they would like to see changed in our society.”
By trying to broaden the appeal, the Sussexes invariably open themselves up to backlash which is something they will have to get used to.
