According to reports, the organization in question, Luz Foundation, has hardly been active in giving out funds since its inception in 2007. During the course of that process, the grants have been quite sparse.
From 2007-2019, it is claimed that the charity had given out $640,402. As the duo’s estimated fortune is $770 million, this did not come across in a positive manner. After all, that was just 00008% of their total net worth.
With that being said, the actions do not correlate with the vision of the foundation. Gisele had formed it on the grounds that she wanted to support young women.
While that may have been the case, the lack of activity coupled with the IRS tax exempt status has led to question marks over its credibility. And yet, Gisele had made it clear that she was focused on this foundation.
In some comments at the time, she remarked: “My life is devoted to this…I’m thinking the whole time, ‘Okay, if I take this job, then I can have more money to put into this [project].’
“So that’s what I’m doing, because that’s [why] God gave me to do what I can do, right?” The fans on social media were outraged by this revelation.
This was on the basis that the two should not have been setting up such a foundation unless they were committed to giving back to the community.
One person wrote: “I’m so glad these people are being exposed, Meghan and Harry do the same,” while another person stated: “Sickening, up there with Archewell.”
The pair have yet to respond to this which is understandable due to the negative Media scrutiny that could emerge. But based on what we have seen so far, things are not looking very good.
