In DeKalb County, Alabama, the sheriff’s office arrested a man on ten charges of possession of child pornography. The arrest came after the department got a tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on December 13, 2022.
Alabama Man Charged with 10 Counts of Possessing Child Pornography – Leaves Jail On Bond
According to Sheriff Nick Welden, the Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrived at the home of Toney Dewayne Chapman (59) to look into the tip. As it turned out, Chapman had explicit images of children on his mobile phone.
Chapman was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography—ten counts, to be exact. He was released from jail on a $100,000 bond. No date has been mentioned for an appearance in court for the 59-year-old. In a statement, Sheriff Welden said:
“Any crime that is harmful or threatening to our children will be dealt with aggressively and will be investigated to the fullest extent possible. I would like to thank our investigators for the outstanding work on this case and the cases endangering our children!”
