A search warrant was executed on his Alpharetta residence later that day on April 26, 2017. The DEA found that Ramirez had four children living at the residence in unfavorable conditions. There was no electricity and they lived within reach of drugs and firearms throughout the residence.
Agents seized $53,797 in cash, 22 kilograms of meth, 1.8 kilos of cocaine, 1.2 kilos of heroin, an AR-15, a revolver, two pistols, and a shotgun. The weapons were all loaded and near the drugs. Federal authorities said that the methamphetamine in Ramirez’s possession was 98-percent pure and had a street value of over $200,000.
Also caught during the raid were Razo Bermudez (34) and Eduardo Reyes Gonzalez (28). While Gonzalez wasn’t mentioned as being at the residence, Bermudez was arrested in the basement of the house. Gonzalez was captured after Ramirez gave a DEA agent access to his phone during questioning.
From what was pieced together by investigators, both Ramirez and Bermudez were in the U.S illegally. Also, they handled the distribution of the drugs while Gonzalez laundered the cash.
Ramirez pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute meth on premises where minors are present, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime, conspiracy to distribute meth, and possession of a firearm by an illegal alien. In addition to his 25 years, he will be subject to five years of supervised release.
His co-conspirators were sentenced in the years before. Bermudez faced the same charges as Ramirez and pleaded guilty, receiving a 17-year sentence and five years of supervised release once his time is done.
Gonzalez received the lightest sentence of three as he pleaded guilty to money laundering. He was given a year and a half in prison as well as three years of supervised release.
