According to the Gwinnett PD, the belief is that Riner was involved in an altercation with his eventual murderer while he was heading in for the workday. Surveillance footage caught the suspect fleeing on foot from the parking lot. PD Sgt. Jennifer Richter acknowledged that they weren’t working with much as there’s no motive and seemingly no reason for the shooting. Richter said of the situation:
“The best that we can tell at this time is that the victim was involved in some kind of a confrontation or interaction with another individual here in the parking lot and that that individual did shoot him.”
Currently, law enforcement is investigating the murder and looking at every possible angle to capture the suspect and establish a motive. What do you believe was the cause of this shooting? Do you believe there was no actual cause and this was simply a senseless shooting with the right opportunity for the shooter?
