On Friday, 9th December 2022, Nick Carter performed on stage for the first time since he was accused of rape in New York City.

The artist had the pleasure of sharing a stage with his Backstreet Boys colleagues at Madison Square Garden. Clips from the event showed Carter, 42, wearing all white and beaming with joy as they did a rendition of Wham!’s “Last Christmas” and their song from 1997, “Everybody.”
This arrived on the back end of 39-year-old Shannon Ruth’s press conference with her lawyer, she asserted that Carter had raped her when she was still a minor.
While that may have been the case, Carter denied doing anything of the sort. And yet, Shannon comments revealed that she felt something disturbing had happened.
In her comments at the time, she stated: “The last 21 years have been filled with pain, confusion, frustration, shame and self-harm that are a direct result of Nick Carter raping me.
“Even though I’m autistic and live with cerebral palsy, I believe that nothing has affected me more or had a more lasting impact on my life than what Nick Carter did and said to me.”
Nevertheless, the people in the crowd gave positive reactions to the star, applauding and joining in with the songs. On Saturday, the hashtag #IStandWithNickCarter was in the top trends on Twitter, demonstrating the public’s continued support.
And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media. One person wrote: “Rape victims don’t write steamy fantasy novels about their rapist, and continue to follow their every move on social media. #IStandWithNickCarter – #BackstreetArmy.“
While another person stated: “In the end we are gonna come out winning in the end we have nick carter back and we know nick carter is innocent in the end nick carter and we nick carter stans are gonna win this war and fight #IStandWithNickCarter #BSBTogether.”
