Recently, the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police busted a Markham man for drug trafficking charges after the OPP and the Barrie police found cocaine and fentanyl in his residence.
Ontario Provincial Police Arrests Markham Man On Drug Charges and Seizes $40K In Cocaine and Fentanyl
On the afternoon of December 12, 2022, the OPP tactical response unit and the Barrie police executed a search warrant on the New Tecumseth area home of Leonardo Jones-Alleyne (26). He had been investigated for some time and apparently, authorities picked the right time to raid him.
The police didn’t specify the weights of the narcotics confiscated but they did announce that cocaine and fentanyl with a street value of $40,000 were seized. Also taken was over $36,000 in cash.
Jones-Alleyne was taken to arrested and is awaiting his bail hearing. No date was determined at the time of his arrest.
Starting off hot earlier in the year with several big busts, the Ontario Provincial Police have been extremely active in their arrests and seizures. Breaking up this drug ring might take some time unless authorities find the loosest of loose threads and unraveled the whole thing.
That aside, the OPP’s continued success is sure to only become a bigger problem for traffickers in the province.
