Tennessee Department of Transportation Workers Discover Human Heart in Salt Pile
On December 15, 2022, the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office received a call from TDOT about something they might need to see. When deputies arrived they were informed about the discovery. Earlier that day, workers were getting salt together to make brine for the roads.
That’s when one worker noticed a rock only to find out that it was a human heart. According to authorities, the heart appears to be that of an adult male. Sheriff Chris Davis noted that a full investigation would take time but at the moment, the area of TDOT where the heart was found is being looked at as a crime scene.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a statement that this was an ongoing investigation and DNA testing would be utilized to make an identification.
