A day before a $337,337, 25.3-pound cocaine seizure at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry, CBP officer seized a massive amount of meth with a street value of just over $840,000. This seizure occurred when a 2015 Chevy Trax rolled into the crossing and obviously failed the second inspection involving drug-sniffing dogs and x-ray imagining.

A 38-year-old man from Mexico was identified as the driver of the vehicle. In cases when Mexican nationals are caught smuggling at the border, they are eventually forwarded to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations-Immigration Customs Enforcement.
The meth weighed out to 91.6 pounds and has an estimated street value of $842,504. Both the drugs and the vehicle remain in the custody of the CBP. The investigation into where the meth was meant to go in Texas was handed over to the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office.
Acting Port Director Michael Martinez also had something to say about this big seizure:
“Our CBP officers’ knowledge of concealment methods and the technology they utilize on a daily basis played a key role in the discovery of narcotics. I congratulate the officers in their continued efforts to uphold the CBP mission and protect the public from illegal narcotics.”
