A nationwide warrant has been issued for two suspects linked to a homicide investigation in Markham, York, Ontario. On December 4, 2022, the York Regional Police responded to an injured person’s call at an apartment complex.

When the police arrived on the scene, they found a deceased woman and after checking the scene, the Homicide Unit was called in. At the moment, the murder is still being investigated but details surrounding it are either very sparse or the department is remaining tight-lipped on the details for now.
What was released could help the public identify the suspects. When the nationwide warrant was issued, the suspects’ faces, names, and other information were released. Canadian authorities are looking for Shichao Dong (38) and Lina Rong (37).
In April 2022, Shichao Dong was actually among several arrested for a kidnapping related to money being borrowed only for the borrower to blow it all on gambling. In that case, he was charged with multiple firearms violations.
The public has been warned that both are not to be approached and are to be considered armed and dangerous. Authorities also warned that those assisting or previously assisted Dong and Rong could face criminal charges for doing so.
