Two weeks ago on AEW Dynamite, Jay Lethal had a chance to claim the AEW All-Atlantic Championship, but couldn’t rely on Satnam Singh or Jeff Jarrett to help out. This was because, if they came to the ring – Sonjay Dutt would be fired. They got front row tickets, only to have to share the seats with Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta – while Danhausen was in the corner of Cassidy. Tonight, Jarrett, Singh & Lethal will face Best Friends & Danhausen in a trios grudge match.
Before this match, we’d hear from Eddie Kingston – who recently turned his back on Ortiz. The mind games of House of Black have worked, and Kingston is done trying to fight off his demons – and will now embrace them. He understands what House of Black is doing, and is ready to come home.
Satnam Singh Is A Big Problem For Danhausen
Lethal would get after the jump on the hometown hero of Taylor, with Trent able to get the match back in their favour. Jarrett would get the tag and had to face off with Danhausen, taking a lariat in the corner. Singh would tag in, and made Trent look like a small child as he shrugged off the chops.
Trent was thrown into the corner and tumbled to the floor from the impact, before taking a lariat on the floor from Lethal. Singh would keep the pressure on in the ring, playing with Trent instead of just ending this match. Lethal would come off the top rope with a double axe handle, before the slingshot into the bottom rope.
Jarrett would get some cheap shots in, before Trent was able to get the tag to Taylor. Lethal would end up in the Koji Clutch, with Jarrett breaking the hold up. Taylor would overcome the two on one advantage before locking on the Figure Four Leg Lock on Jarrett. Lethal tried to come off the top rope with an elbow drop, but Taylor sat up to dodge.
Singh would use his size to tag Jarrett who was in the middle of the ring, and he’d match up with Danhausen – avoiding the curse. Singh would drop Danhausen with an assist from Jarrett, and would pin with his foot for the victory.
Powerhouse Hobbs Runs Through His Latest Opponent
Since Full Gear 2022, Powerhouse Hobbs has been waiting for his moment to strike. He’s been teaching fans of AEW about the Book of Hobbs, and promising more destruction to come. Tonight Hobbs is in action – and Tony Mudd might have a better chance of getting into and winning the WWE Royal Rumble than getting one over on Hobbs.
Mudd would be run down with a lariat, as Jim Ross said Mudd was trained by Al Snow. Hobbs would treat Mudd like a member of the J.O.B Squad – lifting him into the torture rack and dropping him with the Burning Hammer. That’s another chapter in the Book of Hobbs – albeit a short one.
Should Hobbs be next in line for a shot at the TNT Championship? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
