An Alabama man was charged with abusing a corpse after Albertville citizens discovered a body on December 16, 2022. Authorities arrived at 6:39 PM and emergency medical services pronounced 32-year-old Eric Ray Parrish dead at the scene.
Alabama Man Charged with Corpse Abuse But Authorities Rule Out Homicide
While the investigation that turned up a suspect wasn’t detailed, the Albertville PD was able to find Harvey Dwight Ashley (57) in connection to Parrish’s death. The case is very much still under investigation as the body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville for an autopsy.
What is interesting about this case is that authorities don’t believe foul play was involved. Instead, it is believed that Parrish’s body was dumped elsewhere after he died. That only raises the question of how the 32-year-old died and why was his body disposed of in such a manner.
Harvey Dwight Ashley was hit with two counts of abuse of a corpse and currently sits in the Marshall County Jail on $110,000 bond.
