On Tuesday 17th January 2023, a Los Angeles judge determined that actor, Ron Jeremy, otherwise known as Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, was mentally unfit to be tried in court for various rape and sexual assault charges.
Courts Declare That Actor Ron Jeremy Is Not Mentally Capable Of Standing Trial Amid Rape Charges
Judge Ronald S. Harris looked over reports from both the defence and the prosecution and stated that the 69-year-old ex-adult film star has an “incurable neurocognitive decline”.
The prosecution requested that Jeremy have regular assessments done. His next court hearing is due to take place at a hospital on Tuesday, 7th February 2023.
In the year 2020, Jeremy was accused of 34 crimes associated with sexual assault, comprising of 12 cases of rape, concerning 21 individuals over a period of two decades.
Transcripts of the statements given by the supposed victims to the grand jury, which were accessed by the Associated Press, reveal that Jeremy would draw them into a remote area, often a restroom of a restaurant in West Hollywood, and then keep them there against their will and molest them.
His attorney still asserts that Jeremy is blameless, and Ron had previously declared himself not guilty. Stuart Goldfarb, who happens to be his attorney, had this to say: “Two years have gone by, and I’ve gotten a lot more information on the case.
“And I believe if he went to trial, he’d be found innocent. He’s not going to have the opportunity to clear his reputation because he’s not going to go to trial.”
The fans on social media had no sympathy towards Ron. And in the process of doing so, the comments were very brutal indeed.
One person wrote: “Good. State Hospitals for Criminally Insane is no picnic. I worked in one for 15 years. He ain’t going anywhere.”
The only thing left to do is let the authorities investigate the matter and come to a conclusion. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
