A marketing expert has cautioned that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s brand is suffering due to the sensational accusations made against the Royal Family, which has caused their Archewell brand to be forgotten.
Harry And Meghan’s Archwell Brand Has Suffered By Trashing Royals-‘Archewell Is Getting Completely Lost,’ Says Professor Pauline Maclaran
Harry and Meghan departed from the firm in 2020 by settling in the United States, and after that, they announced the formation of Archewell, which includes their non-profit organisation, The Archewell Foundation.
The recent claims that have been made against the royals, both in the couple’s recent Netflix documentary series and Harry’s new book Spare, have left people confused as to what has happened to the Archewell brand.
Pauline Maclaran, a professor of marketing from the Royal Holloway University of London, has expressed her concern that the brand has been “completely lost” due to the controversy surrounding the Netflix series and Harry’s book.
In her comments, she said: “You don’t hear a thing about Archewell and it seems that Archewell is getting completely lost in all of this other stuff.
“The Netflix documentary series and Harry’s book, it is very hard to see how they tie in with the aims of the Archewell Foundation, which are to inspire, unite communities and generally focus on compassion.”
Professor Maclaran also suggested that Harry and Meghan should now cease their criticism as it is obvious that they have a disagreement with certain aspects of the Royal Family. The response on social media was much the same.
A significant proportion of people were of the view that the damage to the Sussexes had already been done, with Archwell failing to have made any significant changes.
One person wrote: “It never was intended for charity (that was make believe) it was more a means to fund Harry and Meghan’s life style dresses private jets etc etc. Less than 5% of money donated has been given to charity.”
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
The Endgame for Them III
So yes, the initial Meghan & Harry show – filmed in the home of a very wealthy Montecito neighbor who left on a cruise and relied on Meghan to water their priceless orchids – was a Netflix “blockbuster”.
But “Live to Lead” – where they conducted faux interviews with previously recorded speeches of notable luminaries – several only previously alive – was a dud by Netflix ratings (which, I guess, is our new Accuweather that tracks key metrics of our life…).
The next planned initiatives have to do with the Invictus games – which while noble, are not going to produce an epic, sensational documentary nor prize-worthy book.
Also – I have to ask – might not the cavalier way Harry discussed his “kill” of the 25 Taliban soldiers and equated it to a board game – insult, inflame and disgust soldiers all over the world – not simply the pawns and rooks that are forever maimed. Could that, in fact, make the Invictus “Brand” a little less noble and much less of a commendable achievement of Harry’s?
Then there’s Meghan’s biopic (the Cliff Notes are now available as many people reading this know…) which is estimated it will rake in between $20M – at least.
But really, what is there left to say?
Ah! That was what they were hoping you would ask: Philanthropy (capital “P” deliberate).
That’s where this all leads.
They are, at heart, die-hard Philanthropists. Didn’t you know? All this money they raked in was simply a way to illuminate who they really are.
I see…
The Endgame for Them II
There is not one person in the normal or alternate universe They inhabit – that would say: “Oh, I don’t know she’s okay, I guess.” – unless the interviewee lives under a rock.
It is simply how she is – existentially. She rubs people the wrong way: her family; his family; her ex’s: ex-friend, ex-husband, ex-collaborators seem to be terrified into silence – which speaks volumes.
The only heroes are those that stand up to her – and they (without being named – we know who they are) pay a huge price, but I think they will all be victors.
She is a flash in the pan of fancy olive oil that you burn, throw out and start over…. for that perfect dish of really organic fried tofu.
The problem for Them, is that her oversized personality is bleeding into their business and philanthropic exploits.
Let’s turn to business first. To date They have raked in a cool $ 138M. Granted, this has not been overnight.
I track it back to “Finding Freedom”. If you want to refresh your memory, it is the book you used to right a crooked coffee table leg. We were told back then, then when we were still innocent of what was about to descend, that the author had never collaborated with Them. Never spoke with Them.
But, of course the author knew the exact shade of her lip gloss; the size of the special Saville Row bespoke “cushion” he ordered for his next Polar exploits the color scheme of Garca Mandela’s living room.
We did not know it was the ripple that presaged the tsunami.
The Endgame for Them I
Recently, a body language expert weighed in on why many people dislike Meghan and just don’t know why?
The theory goes, it is her proclivity in communication to give exaggerated hand and body gestures: a growing existential terror trembling through her words as if a “Psycho” soundtrack was playing in the background; and then to drop to a mere whisper as if Jack Nicholson was reprising his role in the “The Shining” in the next room.
All while complaining to Harry Whole foods was out of her favorite brand of really organic tofu.
Maybe. But, as with all things with these two (now referred to as “They/Them”), there is always an alternate universe theory:
• She is not just a bad actress. She is one of those people who start out as an actor and end up on the side of the rode at a stop light, waving a very large foam foot advertising a new homeopathic cure for toenail fungus – where she would be today, but for marrying a Prince.
Which made we wonder why this required an article – though I think the expert’s viewpoint has some validity.
She is one of those people that create a visceral reaction: you are either love her or don’t.
