Maryland Man Arrested During Welfare Check After Falling Asleep in Car Storing $25K in Cocaine and Marijuana
Oddly, the Montgomery County PD released details on the incident weeks later but it appears to be a straightforward story of someone getting caught unaware. At around 10:10 PM on December 30, Raymond Jenkins (29) was spotted on Wheeler Road slumped over behind the wheel.
Figuring that Jenkins required assistance, the County Police conducted a welfare check. While closing on Jenkins, an officer picked up the scent of marijuana in the vehicle. A search of Jenkins’ car turned up loaded with firearm, marijuana, and cocaine. In this seizure, we have an odd missing item in cash or proceeds from a crime.
According to authorities, the narcotics have a street value of $25,000. Raymond Jenkins was charged with drug trafficking offenses as well as firearm possession.
