Lately, fans have noticed a lot of parallels between Rhea Ripley and WWE legend Chyna. Most of this is due to her partnership with Dominik Mysterio is drawing comparisons to Chyna’s time with Eddie Guerrero in the Attitude Era. When it comes to these comparisons, Ripley embraces them – and would love to make the same history as Chyna.
Rhea Ripley Loves Being Compared To Chyna, Down For Winning The WWE Intercontinental Championship
While speaking with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport following her Royal Rumble victory. During this interview, the comparisons between Ripley and WWE legend Chyna would be brought up – and Ripley discussed the potential of being the second woman to ever win the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
“I think it’s cool. I want people to keep saying that. I know Kofi Kingston said that he wants to see me go for the IC Title, and I’m so down for it – I love being compared to Chyna. I know I get a lot of hate, which at the same time, is weird, but I understand where it’s coming from like, ‘You can’t be the next Chyna!’ Yeah, I know I can’t be the next Chyna. She was absolutely amazing, she was herself, and she was unique to her, but I’m the first Rhea Ripley. If I can get somewhat compared to her, I’m doing something right, but I’m also going to be doing it in my own special way. Yeah, I love to see it.”
In recent months, we’ve seen Ripley get physical with the likes of Akira Tozawa, Edge and Luke Gallows – showing WWE is open to the idea of allowing her to mix it up with the male roster. Currently, the WWE Intercontinental Championship is held by GUNTHER.
Who Will Ripley Face At WrestleMania?
With her having won the 2023 Royal Rumble – she will be facing either Charlotte Flair or Bianca Belair at WrestleMania, and has to think about who she will wrestle. When asked about who she will pick – Ripley had the following to say.
“I know I’ve got a lot of thinking to do. I’ve got chemistry with both of them girls. I’ve gone to war with both of them multiple times. There’s incentives for me to go to Bianca, and there’s incentives for me to go to Charlotte. So, I’m going to sit down and have a big think about this one,”
