At Impact Wrestling’s latest PPV event Hard To Kill – we would see a dramatic main event between Jordynne Grace & Mickie James. Both had something to lose, as Grace defended the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Championship, and James promised to retire if she lost. It was a fantastic match, and in the end – James would come out the victor. James has already announced some lofty goals as champion, and could find herself facing an old foe and rival in Gail Kim – should she want that match.
Gail Kim Would Leave Retirement For One More Match Against Mickie James
During a recent interview with Lucha Libre Online, Gail Kim would be asked her thoughts on Mickie James – and would mention she’d wrestle one last match if asked by James.
“I love and respect Mickie James to the highest regard. If she wanted me to come out of retirement to wrestle her, I would do it, just because I respect her that much. I would just need the time to prepare physically. People are asking, ‘does that mean?’ Listen, you never say never in wrestling. I don’t think I would do what Mickie did, she started at the bottom and worked her way up, that’s a lot of matches to have. You never say never to a dream scenario. It could be anything, someone just has to put together the right scenario for it to be something. We’re all wrestlers, we all love it, it’s always inside of us somewhere. We put it to bed, but sometimes a little something comes up.”
Given the legendary status of Kim in Impact Wrestling and the success of “The Last Rodeo”, this could be a match that Impact wants for an upcoming PPV event in 2023. It could easily be a main event clash, and give Kim a chance to remind everyone that she left the ring behind with a lot left in the tank. Kim last wrestled in 2019, losing to Tessa Blanchard at Impact Wrestling Rebellion, in Kim’s hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
