Police in Ingolstadt, Germany have recently arrested a woman who killed a known beauty blogger who strongly resembled her—so that she could take her own death. This story goes back to August 2022 with a Munich family arriving in Ingolatadt to find a woman identified as Sharaban K in the German press.
German Woman Kills Beauty Blogger Who Looked Like Her in a Bid to Fake Her Own Death – Stalked Social Media Hunting for a Body Double
The family hadn’t heard from the 23-year-old woman in some time after she’d mysteriously stopped answering calls. When they arrived, they found the young woman stabbed to death in her vehicle. Police investigated the scene and believed that the woman was definitely a victim of a crime—obviously—but an autopsy changed their view of if this was the woman the family was seeking.
Authorities made two arrests that same month following the discovery of the body. Khadidia O and an unnamed man—both 23-years-old—were nabbed in connection to the murder. The thing about Khadidia O is that she looked “strikingly similar” to the murdered young woman, according to police in Ingolstadt.
Both had been behind bars since their August 2022 arrest when authorities issued arrest warrants for the two on suspicion of murder. According to a spokesman with the police said that the female suspect was experiencing family issues and planned to start a new life. However, her plan involved setting up social media accounts so that she could find a suitable body double for her plan to fake her death.
Their investigation found that Khadidia O spent weeks speaking with similar-looking young women before she finally managed to score a meeting with Sharaban K. From there, she traveled to Heilbronn to pick up the victim. With her was the male suspect. They were able to get her into a wooden area and stab her to death.
According to a statement on the arrest (in German):
“According to previous knowledge, the suspects came up with the plan to search online for a woman who looked similar to the German-Iraqi woman, kill her and place her in such a way that the corpse would be mistaken for the suspect.”
