Two Texas residents were arrested two months after a man was tortured and killed in Live Oak. The nature of Matthew Pacheo-McKinney’s death and how his body was found spoke of a particularly brutal murder.
Two in Texas Face Murder Charges Two Months After Allegedly Torturing and Shooting a Man
Pacheo-McKinney was found dead on December 7, 2022 behind an abandoned apartment complex. He had been covered with a blanket and a curtain. When authorities removed the coverings, they found that the victim had been tied up and with a trash bag wrapped around one of his feet. From the look of the body, it was obvious he’d been tortured.
According to KABB-TV, Pacheo-McKinney had been tortured and injected with bleach before he died. Authorities had several suspects, but evidence found at the scene pointed them in a clearer direction. In November 2022, a vehicle with gloves and trash bags that matched those at the crime scene was found.
A tip to law enforcement nudged the investigation towards Justin Hunt, Noel Desselle, and David Castleberry. The informant said that the victim had a dispute with two people in a house linked to Hunt. Pacheo-McKinney was shot by Hunt in the house but didn’t die.
After the victim was died, Castleberry and Desselle assisted in disposing of the corpse by putting it in a trash can. Castleberry would direct investigators to the body. Apparently, this isn’t Castleberry’s first time as he was arrested in January 2023 for killing a 25-year-old and dumping the body. He and his accomplice were both charged with murder.
In confessing to investigators, Castleberry also said that he and Hunt were involved in a contracted hit. He claimed that they “killed a white girl for $20,000 and buried in Hunt’s backyard.” Wild if true.
Desselle was charged with concealing a human corpse. Justin Hunt was nabbed on January 26, 2023 and charged with Matthew Pacheo-McKinney’s murder.
