Ever since arriving down in NXT, The New Day have challenged the roster to up their game. The teams of NXT wouldn’t be able to take down living tag team legends unless they hit that next level. Three teams look to hit that next level here tonight, as they enter a Fatal Four Way match for the NXT Tag Team Championships. Pretty Deadly have been wanting this chance since losing the belts at NXT Deadline, Gallus wants to jump back to the top after a lengthy suspension, and Chase U wants to prove that sometimes the underdogs can actually win the big one. Add in that this is in the hometown of Andre Chase – and he’s more fired up than usual.
Pretty Deadly Are More Concerned With Beating Up The New Day
Kofi Kingston & Elton Prince would start this match, with Kingston hitting a spinning kick to the midsection before Xavier Woods got the tag. Kit Wilson would get involved on the apron as he put Prince on his shoulders and took a dropkick – causing Prince to fall. Woods would take a blind tag from Duke Hudson who was able to hit some shoulder tackles on Prince.
Wilson & Chase got tags, before Mark Coffey hit the ring for the first time with an aggressive arm drag. Wolfgang kept the pressure on with some chops – causing Wilson to collapse into a tag from Woods. Coffey would hit the Machine Gun Chops before a running senton from Wolfgang. Prince would get the tag and stomped a mudhole in the chest of Woods, as Wilson would talk some trash.
Pretty Deadly would yell that New Day ruined their lives, as they isolated Woods in their quarter of the ring. Woods would not remain lost for long, as he made the tag to Kingston who dropped Wilson, Prince & Coffey for a triple BOOM Drop! SOS would follow, but Prince was able to break the pinfall up before the three count.
All Out Tag Team Chaos
This match would break down into chaos as all eight men would rush the ring, with Pretty Deadly remaining calm and clearing the ring sans Kingston. They were unable to take advantage of the situation before Woods got the tag. Backbreaker/Diving Foot Stomp combo would crush Prince, but multiple people were there to break this pinfall up.
We’d get a five man brawl at ringside while Chase & Kingston fought on the top rope. Chase would thrown Kingston onto the pile, before hitting a superplex on Wilson onto the pile. Gallus would once again prove that they thrive in chaos, clearing the path as they tried to put Chase through the announce table. Hudson would make the save, before Pretty Deadly looked to hit the suplex through the table instead.
After being whipped into the apron, Hudson would roll back into the ring as Pretty Deadly fixed up the announce table – getting the favour of Booker T in the process, possibly even hitting the Fave Five. Hudson would throw anyone who came in his path aside, even hitting a diving shoulder tackle on Coffey before kipping up – but Wolfgang saved his partner.
Gallus Boys On Top Once Again
Gallus would get Hudson out to the floor, and would hit a double chokeslam through the table – potentially ending the night for Hudson and Chase U. Chase would be alone in the ring as Gallus approached, and he would send Wolfgang out before the Russian Leg Sweep and Chase U stomps on Coffey – getting the fans 100% behind him. Diving crossbody would follow, but Coffey was able to kick out.
Figure Four Leg Lock would be applied – an especially powerful move in North Carolina. Wolfgang broke the pinfall up with The Howling, before hitting a powerslam. Chase would kick out, before Kingston dove onto Gallus. Pretty Deadly hit Spilled Milk on the floor, taking Kingston out. Woods would get caught going for a springboard elbow drop, being slammed into the mat by Wolfgang – and we have new NXT Tag Team Champions!
