Orange Cassidy has taken on all challengers as AEW All-All-Atlantic Champion, being one of the most active champions in AEW history despite his usually lazy nature. Tonight however, he faces his biggest test to date in the form of Big Bill of The Firm. Cassidy has little experience fighting 7 foot tall giants, which is exactly what Bill brings to this match. The sheer size and power difference has a chance to cut out all of the skill of Cassidy, who truly needs to slay a giant tonight.
Orange Cassidy Works Smart To Slay Big Bill
Cassidy would lure Bill to the floor as the match began, keeping distance between him and his gigantic opponent as he thought up a game plan. Bill would start to get frustrated by this, nearly punching his manager – Stokely Hathaway. Cassidy would try for the DDT in the middle of the ring, but was instead put to the mat with a big sidewalk slam.
Bill would put Cassidy on the apron and drive him to the floor with a big boot, before choking him with his boot. The timekeepers table was grabbed, and placed in the entrance way where Cassidy was sent through with a massive chokeslam, after Bill caught him in midair during an attempt of the Orange Punch.
Stokely would stomp Cassidy at ringside as Bill distracted the referee, with Danhausen coming to even the odds. Bill would big too big to curse, but both champion and challenger would find themselves back in the ring, with Bill hitting a delayed vertical suplex on Cassidy. Cassidy would be pulled back to his feet, where he ducked a lariat only to end up in a Full Nelson.
Bill would look to end things with a big boot, with Cassidy falling to the floor to avoid twice before rolling to the floor. Danhausen nearly took a chokeslam on the apron, but Stokely used his arm cast for a spinning backfist. Cassidy avoided a chokeslam, and hit the Orange Punch to the leg, setting up a dropkick into the steel steps.
Bill would roll into the ring, and took the Stundog Millionaire before the Tornado DDT. Three Orange Punches would follow – with the final from the top rope – and the giant was slayed by Orange Cassidy.
Jon Moxley Will Leave No Doubts, House Of Black Are Playing For Keeps
Following this match, we’d hear from a bloody Jon Moxley – with the footage from the aftermath of his match with Evil Uno last week. He would say that Hangman Page getting his flowers for nearly concussing him with a lariat, while Moxley was called unsafe when he did it to Page. Page was upset that Moxley beat him in the third match with a simple wrestling move, but there will be no double when they meet in a Texas Deathmatch this Sunday.
Also set for this Sunday is The Elite vs. The House Of Black – with the AEW World Trios Championships on the line. The Elite were set to give a promo tonight ahead of this match, but as they posed on the ramp – the lights would go out. House of Black would emerge, leaving Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks laying. Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews would pose with the belts – and are playing for keeps this Sunday.
Who will leave AEW Revolution as the top trio in AEW? The Elite or House Of Black? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
