Impact Wrestling Results returned as Nick Aldis joined the announce team and also announced he’s back with Impact Wrestling and has his sights set on the Impact World Championship.
Kushida went after Maclin early with a dropkick and went for a Hoverboard Lock, but Maclin slipped into the ropes and the floor to break the hold.
Maclin managed to stay a step ahead early on, but Kushida forced him into a game of trading holds.
Kushida kept after Maclin with a headlock to wear him down, but Maclin managed to work free and then took a crossbody. Kushida went for his left arm but Maclin got to the ropes, and then used Kushida’s hair to pull him down.
He stomped and dropped knees on Kushida’s back before hitting a backbreaker for a near pinfall.
Maclin wrapped Kushida around the ring post, but Kushida fought back with some chops. Maclin shut him down with a clothesline and a suplex before resetting the ref’s count a second time and flipping off the audience.

He hit an elbow drop of the apron and it looked like he may have injured his left leg.
After another flurry from Kushida, Maclin hit an Olympic Slam for another near pinfall.
Kushida hit a handspring back elbow to buy some time and fired off a series of kicks on Maclin’s left arm to keep softening him up.
Kushida kept up the pressure and hit a Fisherman Buster for a near pinfall, and then avoided a Caught in the Crosshairs and hit his own dropkick.
After hitting some kicks and knees to Maclin’s left arm, Kushida went for a Hoverboard Lock, but Maclin fought free and went for a pin attempt.

He then hit a buckle bomb and a power bomb for the nearest pinfall yet.
After going back and forth on the top rope, Kushida hit a Spanish Fly and locked in a Hoverboard Lock, but Macklin made it to the ropes.
Kushida didn’t want to release the hold, to Maclin had to fought him off and Kushida planted him into the French announce table.
Maclin caught him for a Caught in the Crosshairs and then a KIA for a near pinfall that left Maclin frustrated.
Kushida caught Maclin off the top rope with the Hoverboard Lock and Maclin pounded his way out of it with heavy blows to Kushida.
Maclin hit a Death Valley Driver but Kushida managed to lock in a Hoverboard Lock again. Maclin picked him up and drove him into the corner to break it.

Maclin powered out of another Hoverboard Lock to hit a KIA for the win.
This was an awesome match and Macklin proved his toughness more than ever. It’s going to be fun seeing what his run has in store for us.
After the match, Maclin refused to accept the title from the ref and demanded that Scott D’Amore would honor his word and hand the title to him.
D’Amore came out and slammed the title into Maclin’s chest, and Maclin nailed him from behind with the belt.
Aldis had enough and got into the ring to confront Maclin, and after exchanging words, Maclin backed off and headed up the ramp.
