Over the past week, the WWE has been flying under the radar, or rather been able to function under the news of Endeavor buying them. It’s no surprise given the scope of the news, but some tidbits came out.
One of those is Triple H has been named as the sole head of WWE Creative, and this reportedly came from Vince McMahon as he emailed those in WWE about it.
Will Triple H Being Named the SOLE Head of WWE Creative Stick?
That came as welcomed news to WWE fans as his foray back into the creative side in Raw After WrestleMania saw nothing but the chaotic and uncreative angles the WWE has been known for the last few years.
Fans en masse took to social media and had various #FireVinceMcMahon trends going. Endeavor made it known they were aware of the fans’ frustrations and we talked about how they may have told McMahon to step back.
Since he sent out that email and Nick Kahn verified it, it looks like that may have been what happened.
Being the man
Triple H has oversaw a solid resurgence in WWE programming since he took over as he’s turned he focus more toward the wrestling aspect and less the gimmicky endings, run ins, and so on that was common place.
Except for when it comes to the Bloodline. They have to stay relevant somehow.
Nick Kahn spoke on LightShed Live about it and explained that while Triple H is in charge, Vince will offer ideas from time to time.
“When this deal was officially announced, Monday morning, Vince sent out a company-wide email to our thousand or so employees, including myself. And in the email, he laid out the structure of the NewCo, which certainly you guys have read about and are familiar with.
“In addition to Vince being the Executive Chairman, Ari Emanuel being the CEO, Mark Shapiro being the President, Dana White continuing as President of UFC, and me at WWE — specifically Vince articulated that Paul Levesque remains the sole chief creative officer. Sole.
“So, how does it work? Does that mean because I’m technically in charge of the business side of the business that I don’t seek input from other people? Or I wouldn’t seek input from Vince McMahon, who created this entire empire? That would be a mistake on my behalf.
“Paul and Vince, have a family relationship, a relationship that stands back to the mid-90s. Paul’s in charge of creative. If he wants input from Vince or Vince has ideas then he and Paul are gonna communicate, that’s always gonna be the case. We’re lucky to have Vince. We’re lucky to have Paul in control of creative.”
While it sounds like McMahon will still have a say in things, we look at the fact he ahs bosses now, and it looks like he’s been told to keep hands off for the foreseeable future.
We could be wrong, but that’s the feeling we get from all of this since McMahon ignored the WWE fans for years prior, a dustup over his mishandling of Raw wouldn’t have bothered him is he was the top boss. It hadn’t for years.
What do you think? Will Triple H continue to be the sole head of creative, or will McMahon find a way to have more say even if he’s not supposed to? Let us know in the comments below.
