Damage CTRL held an iron grip on the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships – until Becky Lynch found some aid in the form of Lita. They’d take the titles from Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai, which just made Damage CTRL more determined.
With Bayley rounding out the trio, they look to take down Lynch, Lita & Trish Stratus in a massive six woman tag team match. Lynch is a future legend, and Stratus & Lita are WWE Hall Of Famers – making them perhaps the biggest trio in WWE women’s division history.
Team BLT vs. Damage CTRL In A Generation Spanning Dream Match
Becky, Lita & Trish would start with a brawl, sending Damage CTRL to the floor – before pulling Kai in to start the match. Manhandle Slam was avoided, with Kai hitting the Scorpion Kick to drop Lynch.
Sky would hit a slingshot double knee strike, as Lynch quickly found herself isolated. Bayley would mock Lita as she went to work on Lynch, getting sent from the ring – but getting the blind tag to Kai before she went over the top rope.
Lynch jumped for a tag, but Bayley took Trish off the apron as Kai pulled Lynch away. Lita would finally get the tag as Lynch regained control, hitting a flying headscissor takedown before a knee strike to the back of Sky’s head. Vertigo would follow, but Sky was able to kick out at two.
Damage CTRL would work together to cut Lita down for a three way kick, getting a two count. Sky would apply a rear chinlock using the ropes for extra damage, before Kai just put Lita between her knee and the ropes.
Lita was able to hit a double DDT, tagging Trish into the match. For the first time since 2019, Trish hit the ring and was just throwing punches, before some stiff chops on Kai in the corner.
Becky Lynch Drops Bayley With A Super Manhandle Slam
Neckbreaker would follow, with Kai able to kick out at two. Kai would head to the top rope and blocked the hurricanrana, only for Damage CTRL to be set up on the floor – and Trish hit the hurricanrana to the floor.
Poetry In Motion was followed by the Diving Leg Drop by Lynch, before the Disarmher was applied – with Kai saved by a knee smash from Bayley.
Rose Plant got a two count, with Lita making the save. Kai took Lita out before taking Stratusfaction. Bayley hit Bayley To Belly – before this spilled to the floor, and Iyo Sky took flight with a moonsault.
All six women would brawl it out in the middle of the ring, with Lita hitting the Twist Of Fate. Trish hit the Chick Kick, and a Litasault would follow.
Bayley was left alone – and tried for the Super Bayley To Belly. Lynch would block, and hit an Super Manhandle Slam for the victory. Damage CTRL might have been the more defined team, but the legendary trio of Becky, Lita & Trish would not be denied on this night.
Rey Mysterio Pays Tribute To Eddie Guerrero
When Dominik Mysterio turned on his father at Clash At The Castle – Rey Mysterio vowed to not raise his hands in violence to his son. Mysterio would deal with Dominik & Rhea Ripley crashing holidays, and still kept his cool.
He did make Dom serve hard time by getting him arrested for Christmas. However – when Dominik would decide to insult his mother, it was a step too far even for the honourable Rey Mysterio.
Tonight, he finally looks to teach his son a lesson in respect, with the world watching on.
Ex-Con Dom would get a police escort to the ring, complete with one of Rey’s old masks. Meanwhile, Rey would call back to Eddie Guerrero – hitting the ring with a low rider driven by fellow WWE Hall of Famer – Snoop Dogg.
He even used Lie, Cheat, Steal – with the crowd excited to hear Guerreos classic theme song – an all time great WrestleMania entrance for sure.
Dom would pieface his father and shove him away as the bell rang, before hitting a mat return and holding onto the rear waist lock. Rey would send Dom to the floor to break free, before taking a shoulder tackle in the ring.
Dom would be sent flying with a quick hurricanrana – before a Flying Headscissor takedown into the corner. Rey would take off his belt, and take Dom to the woodshed with some stiff lashes.
Dom would throw a drink into his sister’s face at ringside, baiting Rey in and dropping him with a forearm smash. Rey was slingshotted into the ring post, allowing Dom to take complete control of the match.
Dom would be faced with the legendary speed of his father, as Rey slipped free briefly before dropping him with a springboard arm drag into Michinoku Driver.
Dominik Mysterio Runs Out Of Luck Thanks To Bad Bunny
Dom would head back to the outside and got into the face of his mother, getting a slap to the face to one of the biggest pops from the crowd all night.
Rey would kiss his wife, before shoving Dom into the ring. Coming off the top rope with a seated senton, Rey would quickly follow up with the springboard crossbody for a two count.
Code Red out of the corner would get Rey another close fall – as Finn Balor & Damien Priest came out to hype Dom up.
Rey would be launched into the corner with an Alley Oop, with Dom slow on the cover. Three Amigo’s was attempted by Dom, but Rey refused to let it happen.
He’d set up the 619 with a reverse headscissor – with Damien Priest stopping the Frog Splash. Bad Bunny was on hand for Spanish commentary, and would start to eye Priest after this.
Before he would get involved, the new Latino World Order members, Legado Del Fantasma would attack – with Santos Escobar hitting The Arrow from The Depths Of Hell on Priest.
Dom would nail a stiff lariat in the ring – before setting up the 619 on his father. He’d nail it, and head up top for the Frog Splash – and got the near fall for his efforts.
Dom would expose the steel of a turnbuckle to distract the referee and grab a chain from Damien Priests blazer.
Bad Bunny would make the save, and a 619 from Rey would be followed by a Frog Splash for a victory – which was exactly what every fan in the arena wanted. Rey would celebrate with his family – as Judgement Day helped Dom to the back.
