FTR have been stuck between a rock and a hard place since an issue with Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal began. Lethal has been in the ear of longtime friend Mark Briscoe recently, trying to turn him against FTR.

Some misplaced strikes and piledrivers from FTR to Briscoe did little to help the situation, and could cost them tonight. Briscoe is the special guest referee for tonights tag team championship match, and while he has claimed he will call it down the middle – he’s got little patience for either team after the past month.

FTR Bring Tag Team Greatness To Vegas

Briscoe would call for the bell, and Dax Harwood would kick things off with Lethal – taking him to the mat with a side headlock takeover. Lethal would try to match the grappling skills of Harwood, but was forced into the corner.

Chops would be traded, but Dax The Axe would win out. Wheeler would get into a brawl with both opponents, leading them into a flying lariat from Harwood.

Double atomic drop from FTR caused Lethal & Jarrett to bump heads, before FTR tried for a double sharpshooter. Wheeler would get the tag, and a double back body drop from FTR followed.

Lethal would be sent from the ring, and FTR slid out of the ring to shove Lethal & Jarrett into each other. Back in the ring, Wheeler hit a snap suplex for a two count – before Jarrett got the tag.

Wheeler would be choked on the ropes first by Jeff Jarrett, and then as Briscoe gave him a warning – Karen Jarrett got a choke in. Lethal would maintain the control of the match, with a quick neckbreaker getting a near fall. A Dragon Screw would weaken the leg of Wheeler, and Jarrett slapped on the Figure Four Leg Lock to take advantage.

Harwood would hit a flying headbutt to get Wheeler free, before hitting Lethal with a sheerdrop brainbuster for a two count.

Lethal would block the Powerplex attempt from FTR, and sent Harwood to the mat with a series of chops before the Hail to The King elbow. Harwood would take advantage of Lethal wasting time taunting, and took a Superplex – before a Doomsday Powerbomb.

Mark Briscoe Gets Pushed Too Far By Jarrett – And Pushes Back

Jarrett was taken out with a tope from Wheeler – but Sonjay Dutt would grab the ankle of Harwood. Briscoe threw Dutt & Singh out of the match, only to take a guitar shot from Jarrett.

He was down as FTR hit the Shatter Machine on Lethal – and when Aubrey Edwards tried to jump in, Karen Jarrett hit her with a guitar.

FTR took a double Lethal Injection, and Lethal would look to use the AEW Tag Team Championship as a weapon. Harwood countered and hit a piledriver, only for Jarrett to hit Harwood with the belt and The Stroke.

Dutt would revive Briscoe, and somehow Harwood kicked. This is a combo that ended many World Championship matches for Jarrett over his career, but Harwood is build different.

Jarrett would get in the face of Briscoe and slap him – before Briscoe slapped back. Shatter Machine from FTR followed – and they remain the AEW World Tag Team Champions!

Mark posed with FTR, and they will continue to reign – likely all the way to Wembley. After the match, FTR saved Ricky Starks from Bullet Club Gold – potentially finding their next feud.

Wardlow Faces Pioneer Of The Ladder Match

Wardlow is once again the TNT Champion – having defeated Powerhouse Hobbs to regain the belt. Since then, he’s been stalked by a legend in Christian Cage.

Cage has been watching Wardlow very closely, waiting for his chance to strike. He’s torn Wardlow apart in promos, and in brawls and tonight, enters his first match for the TNT Championship.

After using a ladder in a recent brawl, Cage set the groundwork for a ladder match – something he helped define in the 1990’s. The TNT Championship is hanging high above the ring, and Wardlow needs to prove he can beat a legend to keep it.

Wardlow would run Cage down with a shoulder tackle as this match began, but missed the lariat. Cage would try for the Killswitch – but was easily blocked by Wardlow.

They’d head to the floor to find the ladder, with Wardlow using it to swat a flying Cage out of the sky. Wardlow grabbed some tables out from under the ring, before setting Cage up onto them.

Intending to fly onto the tables, Wardlow would take aim – but didn’t fly when he saw Cage roll to safety. Wardlow would be smashed into the barricade, before the ladder was set up between the ring apron and barricade.

Cage was placed on the ladder, but as Wardlow joined him with a powerbomb in mind – he’d slip free and crotch Wardlow onto the rungs of the ladder.

Starting his climb in the ring, Cage would notice Wardlow moving – and stopped to beat the champion down some more. A ladder was propped up in the corner, and Wardlow was catapulted right into it. Cage tried to climb – but Wardlow recovered and shoved it down, saving the match.

Arn Anderson Gives The TNT Champion An Edge

Wardlow would start his climb, but Cage grabbed the boot – stopping him in his tracks. A powerbomb attempt would see Cage counter and jump onto the ladder, only to be pulled off and into a slam.

Wardlow would hit an Airplane Spin slam, launching Cage right onto the steel of the ladder. Cage would roll to the floor, and Wardlow would recover and set up a ladder.

Wardlow would nearly reach the top – but Luchasaurus came out to help Cage. A reverse DDT off the apron would follow, but Wardlow managed to recover.

Cage would be hit with a spinebuster onto the ladder, but a Swanton Bomb from Wardlow would miss – only catching steel. Wardlow was dazed, and Cage started his climb.

Arn Anderson would motivate Wardlow to get up, and he’d leap onto the ladder – breaking it and causing Cage to stumble. Wardlow tried to use the broken ladder, only to take two chokeslams from Luchasaurus.

Arn Anderson would hit the ring and bit the thumb of Luchasaurus, and Wardlow set him up on the tables and hit the Swanton Bomb, getting his Jeff Hardy moment.

Cage would take advantage of Wardlow reocvering, but Anderson stopped the climb. He was thrown into a powerbomb from Wardlow, who completed the climb to remain champion.

Who will challenge Wardlow next? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
