When Blackpool Combat Club would target The Elite – this included stabbing former member Hangman Page in the eye with a screwdriver. A betrayal from Don Callis to Kenny Omega in a steel cage match added further fuel to the fire.
However, Kenny Omega refused to quit – and during a key moment in AEW Dynamite history, the bridge between Page & The Elite would be mended due to having mutual enemies.
The Elite are AEW, and tonight wil fight for the pride of the company as they meet Blackpool Combat Club in the second ever Anarchy In The Arena match.
Violent Idols Provide The Soundtrack To Anarchy In The Arena II
For the first time since 2020, the Dysfunctional, Melodramatic Family of AEW was together again. Between them, there is three reigns as AEW World Tag Team Champion, two reigns as AEW World Champion, and many absolute classics – they’re The Elite, and AEW would not be the same without them. Hitting the ring together to Carry On Wayward Son, it was a special moment.
Meanwhile, Blackpool Combat Club would get a live rendition of Wild Thing from Violent Idols – while they came out from the upper part of the arena.
The Elite would meet them in the stands, and we barely heard the bell ring as the fight began. Anarchy In The Arena means no rules, no coherence, and all violence. Omega & Moxley would get to ringside first, with Young Bucks & Castagnoli following.
Violent Idols went for an encore, keeping the music going as Moxley & Castagnoli smashed Omega with a steel chair. Page would hit a lariat in the ring on Danielson, before revealing that his eye is fully healed, and pulling out a screwdriver after handing Danielson his screwdriver. BCC would save Danielson, but The Elite would clear the ring before looking for a four way suicide dive.
The band had started Wild Thing for a third time as Young Bucks went up the stage and hit a double superkick on the singer who showed his BCC shirt – ending the music.
Omega would bash a bleeding Moxley with a piece of the announce table. Somewhere in the chaos, Don Callis snuck onto commentary.
Action Spills Into Parking Lot
Moxley & Omega would grapple in the ring as Matt Jackson hit the Locomotion Northern Lights Suplexes on Wheeler Yuta down the ramp.
Castagnoli tried to stop this, but a running Nick Jackson dove onto him. Page hit a powerbomb to Yuta, crashing him off the apron. In the ring, Moxley ducked a big boot from Page – who hit Omega instead.
Moxley would drag Omega up the stage, as Danielson choked Nick with a camera cable while Yuta got some punches in. Omega was thrown into a giant poker chip, like the one he was DDT’d onto at Double Or Nothing 2019. Moxley had put Barbed Wire on the chip, and looked for a piledriver onto the chip – which could well be the exact same one, knowing the mind of Moxley.
Instead, Moxley hit a suplex onto it, with Omega blocking the piledriver. Danielson & Yuta would whip Page with belts, while Moxley stabbed Omega with a fork and Castagnoli swung Matt in the concourse of the arena.
Moxley was somehow dropped into the barbed wire, and the padding on the floor around the ring was ripped up by the chaos. Yuta hit Page with a chair, as Matt & Castagnoli would battle outside with Matt throw in the back of a truck.
Nick was suplexed onto a chair, and somehow Danielson found a leaf blower. Matt was piledrivered into the truck, and Castagnoli marched back to the ring. The Elite were getting blown out of the water, but Page blocked a piledriver on the apron and hit Moxley with Deadeye.
Kenny Omega Is Captain Elite
Omega would embody the Captain America style trunks with a Trash Can lid, proving he can do this all day – fighting off Danielson & Yuta at once. Nick would jump onto Moxley, who would apply the Boston Crab. Omega tried to get him free, but was taken out by Yuta & Castagnoli.
Matt would find his way back to the ring, finally saving his brother with an exploding superkick to the face of Moxley. Yuta took a series of superkicks, before Page hit the Buckshot Lariat – and somehow survived.
Danielson & Moxley would expose the feet of Matt, to prevent more explosive superkicks, and Moxley got thumbtacks and slammed him bare foot first into the tacks.
Death Rider followed, and Matt kicked out. Omega hit the Snapdragon, before trying for a V-Trigger. Castagnoli blocked but was unable to hit the Ricola Bomb.
Page & Omega took flying knee smashes from Danielson, before the Hammer & Anvil Elbows. Matt would save his partners as elbows rained down from the BCC, before a low blow.
He was fed thumbstacks before taking an uppercut and German Suplex. Page made the save, and realized that him & Omega had to fight to win this – saying they’re not friends, but they’re family. Danielson took Deadeye and One Winged Angel – but Yuta once again was the MVP, making the save.
Konosuke Takeshita Has Sold His Soul To The Blackpool Combat Club
Yuta took a series of offense from Page & Omega, setting up the Last Call. Don Callis would try to get involved, and handed Yuta a screwdriver. Page got spiked, but Omega did not. Omega would look for One Winged Angel, but Don Callis hit the ring.
Omega would turn to face Callis, but Konosuke Takeshita would hit the knee strike to the face. Seemingly joining the BCC – Takeshita would hand the win to Yuta with the seatbelt pin.
After the match, Callis would strangle Omega with a belt as Takeshita hit some nasty strikes. Omega was down and out – and Blackpool Combat Club has never looked so dominant. The Elite tried to stand and fight, but Callis & Takeshita ensured there was no victory for them.
