Just ahead of AEW All Out 2022, Thunder Rosa would suffer an injury. This would force her to step aside as the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion, with AEW naming an Interim Champion at the event.
Since then, Rosa has been recovering – with the belt officially becoming vacant later in the year. After showing up on AEW programming ahead of the debut of Collision – Rosa is now getting close to making her return.
Thunder Rosa Shares Some Great News
While appearing on Busted Open Radio, Rosa would share some news. She’s allowed to get back into the ring again.
“It’s great news. I get to get in the ring. For those who are questioning if I’ve just been taking a big break because I like to do stuff, no, I am getting ready, and I’m excited. Just stay tuned. There’s a lot more stuff, I gotta be on my vlog, in terms of that. So that’s your answer, if you want to go on my vlog and listen and see, I have graphics and everything explaining the injury, you can see it. When he said the pathology’s still there, that means I still have the injury, I just don’t have any pain. So I’m living, and thousands and millions of people probably in the United States live with back pain and back problems, and I’m one of them.”
Some Behind The Scenes Training Will Be Needed Before Rosa Returns
What this means for AEW fans is that Rosa can now begin training for her in-ring return. The path to return isn’t simply being cleared to compete.
There often being time spent working in the ring behind the scenes. Professional wrestling is far from an easy sport. Simply put, there is a lot that can go wrong if someone is not ready to go.
Rosa will take some time to work off any ring rust, and wait for a moment to jump into a storyline. The groundwork is already set for her to join the battle against The Outcasts, putting her alongside Jamie Hayter and rival Britt Baker.
AEW will likely want her & Hayter back by All In – allowing them to run a massive trios match in Wembley Stadium. Hayter is out with a shoulder injury, suffered earlier this year.
